What better way to lure the kids out of bed on a cold winter morning than with the promise of a warm bowl of porridge. There is no need to add dairy as the oats are creamy enough on their own, and no need to add refined sugar as this recipe comes with a hint of natural sweetness in the form of honey.

Wakey-wakey!
Added to this recipe is LSA to provide protein, omega 3, Vitamin A, E, D, B1, B2, B5 and an array of minerals to help your little one grow and stay healthy during the colder months.
Preparation Time: 2 minutes
Cooking Time: 8 minutes
Makes: 4 servings
Ingredients
2 cups oats
4 cups water
2 tablespoons LSA (Linseed, Sunflower seed and Almond)
2 tablespoons of honey
Method
Place oats and water into a pot. Increase heat to boiling, then reduce to a simmer, stirring occasionally until oats are cooked. You could add boiling water if you've already put the kettle on for your morning cuppa, as adding boiling water will reduce the cooking time a little.
You'll know they are ready when they reach a beautiful creamy consistency like in the image above.
Add honey while hot and stir in.
Add LSA and stir through.
Adding LSA to the porridge at this stage makes it smoother and more palatable to kids as it becomes part of the creamy porridge.
You can do all this before the kids wake up, then gently wake them to the smell of warm porridge.
This recipe is also good to make ahead, so if you have extra, pop it into a sealed container once cool and store in the fridge for a day or so.
