Cavemen would gnaw on turkey legs, and they were right to do so - turkey is delicious! Little ones love the idea of eating in the way cavemen may have.
Plus the meat on the bone is higher in flavour than turkey fillet, so expect clean plates.
Preparation Time: 2 minutes
Cooking Time: 1 hour 45 minutes
Makes: 5 child servings
Ingredients
1 turkey leg
Tblsp coconut oil
Half tsp chilli powder
Half tsp black pepper
Tsp mixed spice
Tsp parsley
Bunch of spring greens
Handful of kale
Method
Place the seasoning at the bottom of a large roasting tray.
Add the turkey to the tray, roll in the seasoning, and rub in the coconut oil.
Place in the oven for 1 hour and 45 minutes at 180 degrees/gas mark 4.
Add the greens to a saucepan of boiling water and simmer for 10 minutes.
Remove the turkey from the oven.
Pull gently at the meat, if it flakes it is cooked perfectly.
Serve the meat piled high on a plate.
Plate up the greens next to the meat.
This dish works great as a lunch box filler too.
