As dates are naturally high in sugar content and iron, you can avoid adding unnecessary sugar making it a healthy energy boosting drink for the whole family.

Cooking Time: 10-15 minutes
Makes: 4 servings
Ingredients
1/2 cup pitted and chopped dry dates
1 tsp of saffron strand
1/2 tsp of cardamom powder
4 cups skimmed milk
1 cup water
Method
Boil the dates in one cup of water for 5 minutes to soften them.
Add the milk,saffron and cardamom powder.
Boil for another 10-15 minutes.
Note- You can also make a date smoothie and serve cold.
