I don't cook pasta very often, so I find it pretty pointless buying jars of pasta sauce that will sit in the cupboard taking up room for ages. Once opened, anything that isn't used then ends up getting wasted. As an alternative to pasta sauce, I use chutney as a substitute, which works just as well.
