Porridge with apples, cinnamon and vanilla honey

Fruit always livens up a bland porridge bowl and gives your family a wholesome breakfast.



Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cooking Time: 5 minutes
Makes: 4 servings

Porridge with fresh fruit has always been a family favourite, but it is so much better when you cook it yourself rather than let the microwave do all the work. This porridge only takes five minutes to prepare and only five minutes to cook. I like to use soy milk to give it that nutty flavor. You can use any fruit or berries but I used apples and cinnamon because they go so well together. Add more milk if you find that the porridge is a little dry at the end of the cooking process.

Ingredients
2 cups of oats
2 apples (diced)
2 cups of soy milk
1 tablespoon of vanilla honey
1 teaspoon of cinnamon

Method
Prepare the ingredients.



Put the oats and milk into a saucepan and leave to soak while you cut the apples.



Dice the apples.



Cook the porridge in the saucepan and add the apples and cinnamon.



Add the honey and more milk if you need to.

Cook until the porridge becomes creamy.

Serve up with a sprinkle of cinnamon.
