Christmas is about food, there aren't any two ways about it. In a bid to create a fun snack for my niece, I've created snow-topped yogurt dessert, which might just become a party pleaser at Christmas. It looks festive enough, I think.
This treat requires minimal effort, and can be whipped up in under 5 minutes - perfect if you're pushed for time/have dessert-hungry kids(!)
If you can, try to use maple syrup as the recipe states because it is full of antibacterial properties.Pure maple syrup is far superior to golden or syrup which blends maple and another type together because it is high in manganese (keeps bones strong and healthy) and zinc (immune boosting properties).
Preparation Time: 0 minutes
Cooking Time: 2 minutes
Makes: 2 servings
Ingredients
100g whole yogurt
2 Tblsp maple syrup
Tblsp Ground almonds

Required ingredients
Method
Add the yogurt to a ramekin/small bowl.
Place the almonds in an oil-free griddle pan.
You don't need to add oil because the almonds are naturally oily, plus it would impair the flavour.
Cook over a low heat for 2 minutes/until a golden brown colour forms throughout the ground almonds.
Top the yogurt with the browned ground almonds.
Pour the syrup over the top.
You can spoon/whip the yogurt into the ramekins/small jar into peaks if you like, for a more convincing snow 'top'.
This is wonderfully simple, and yet very much enjoyed by my niece and I. It's a quick, healthy, and delicious dessert, and you can triple the amounts, if you wish to serve it on Christmas day
