Getting kids to eat a healthy breakfast can be a difficult task for any parent - there is a minefield of supposedly healthy breakfast cereals marketed to kids, but read the box and you'll be lucky to find many that don't have a huge sugar content.
To get away from this, and ensure that your child has a healthy breakfast to get through a day of frolicking on the beach or at the local park on the holidays, or of working hard at school during term and help stave off the hunger pangs until the next meal time while they are having a blast, this easy to prepare hummus on toast is just the thing.
You can even make your own to ensure a more mild garlic flavour if your kids prefer it.

Ingredients
2 slices of bread
1 tablespoon hummus
Method
Toast the bread to your child's liking. The healthier the bread you can use the better.
Spread hummus on the toast and serve, happy in the knowledge that your child is getting a healthy serve of protein and carbohydrates to start their day, minus the sugar.
