Adriano Zumbo's Macaron Kit is a perfect way to teach older children how to make "real" macarons right in your own kitchen.

We chose the Raspberry and Chocolate flavor and they turned out surprisingly well. Other flavors available for purchase are Passionfruit Macarons and Salted Caramel Macarons. These would make a great treat to serve for high tea, afternoon tea or at a color themed children's party. You can purchase the pre-packaged macaron kit at any large supermarket and we found the instructions clear and easy to follow - or you can watch Adriano Zumbo's simple and helpful video instructions here. Why not turn your kitchen into a mini patisserie today?

Method

Trace circles using the template onto baking paper on two baking trays.

Add 1/4 cup of water to the mixture in the colored (ours was pink) packet.

Mix for four minutes or until the ingredients stiffen.

Spoon the colored mixture into a piping bag (this is supplied in the handy kit), then pipe the mixture onto the circles you made on the baking paper.

Ready for the oven

Place in a low oven for 15 minutes or until "feet" appear.

Macarons
Our first macarons - wow

Take the macarons out of the oven and allow them to cool.

Melt the chocolate mixture and add 2 tablespoons of thickened cream.

Mix and spoon the chocolate sauce into the other piping bag and pipe onto every second macaron, then "sandwich" them together.

Allow them to cool and enjoy the light delicate taste of your very own macarons. Maybe you could make them into a Macaron Tower for your next festive occasion?
