Green Lentils and Oats Pan Cake

It is a constant endeavor for the mothers to look at nutritious and a tasty food options for their kids. Green Lentils mixed with oats, semolina and carrot provides a perfect healthy breakfast alternative for the young ones. It is high in energy-producing carbohydrates and extremely low in fat.



Soaking Time: 2 hrs
Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Cooking Time: 15 minutes
Makes: 8 servings

Ingredients
1 cup green lentils (Moong Dal)



cup oats



1 grated carrot
cup semolina
finely chopped ginger
1 finely chopped green chilli
1/2 tbsp cumin seed
Butter for greasing
Salt to taste

Method
Wash the green lentils thoroughly and soak them in sufficient water, for at least 2 hours.



Drain the excess water and blend the green lentils, ginger, cumin seeds and green chilli to make a smooth batter. You may add 4-5 spoons of water while blending.



Now grind the oats in to a fine powder.



Mix the powdered oats, grated carrot and semolina to the green lentils paste (prepared above). Add some salt to taste.



Take a flat bottom non stick pan and put it in on a low flame.

Pour the batter in the center and spread it evenly on the pan and then pour in 1/2 tbsp butter when the batter starts drying up.



Flip it with a spatula and let it cook until it turns to light golden brown in color.



Remove it with the help of spatula and serve it hot with sauce.
