If your children do not like fruit, this grape salad is a good way to get them to eat grapes as they are sweet and the ingredients make them a bit sweeter!
Available at the moment from the US, the green, seedless grapes were particularly nice. This recipe is also great as an after school snack.
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 0 minutes
Makes: 2 servings
Ingredients
250 g green seedless grapes
150 g black seedless grapes
100 g sour cream
100 g cream cheese, softened
Less than ¼ cup sugar
¼ cup pecan nuts, chopped, or crushed
For the topping
¼ cup brown sugar
¼ cup pecans, crushed
Method
Wash the grapes and take them off the stems.
Mix the sour cream, cream cheese, sugar and vanilla until they are blended.
Put the grapes into this mixture, mix and put in a serving bowl.
For the topping
Mix the brown sugar and crushed pecans
Sprinkle over the top of the grape salad to cover it completely.
I left out this part this time, as I am trying to cut down on sugars and it was still a delicious salad.
Chill overnight, if possible.
