Easy Homemade Tortillas

Who ever thought making homemade tortillas could be this easy!



There are many different kinds of breads and doughs we can make at home to avoid shop bought. Shop bought wraps, naan bread, tortillas and roti's all have preservatives in them to make their shelf life longer. This tortilla recipe is so quick and easy that you won't ever want to spend the money on shop bought ones; in fact they are so versatile as wraps, dipping breads and bread accompaniments to your decadent dinners, that you will easily become the master in your own kitchen. There is no doubt that you will impress your family with these delicious parcels of doughy goodness.

Two cups of flour can go a long way, so why spend the money on preservative filled, sodium enriched wraps from the shop. You can always make these tortillas healthier by using organic or whole meal flour and adding all kinds of seeds like flaxseeds, linseeds and pumpkin seeds to them.

Even if you are not a baker, these easy tortillas are sure to show your kitchen skills off.

Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 2 minutes
Makes: 10 or more tortillas

Ingredients
2 cups of plain flour
1 teaspoon of salt
3 tablespoons of olive oil
3/4 water
Spray oil

Method
Place the flour in a large bowl.



Add salt and water.



Add the oil and stir together.



Knead the dough for 10 to 15 minutes and leave to rest for 15 minutes.



With a knife, slice the dough into 8 to 10 equal portions.



Roll each portion out with a rolling pin. Be sure to make it nice and thin. You may need to add more flour to your board to not let the dough stick.



Spray your non stick pan with olive oil and heat it up. Place the tortilla on the pan and cook for approximately half a minute to a minute on each side (or until you feel it is ready).



Serve up with your favourite curry or use tortillas as a wrap.
