Corned Beef Pie

A meat pie is an excellent dish to prepare for the family. It is something that can be shared round the table and enjoyed by everyone. Serve it with veg and gravy for a hearty meal.

: 6 servings
300g wholemeal plain flour
4 tbsp water
1 x 340g tinned corned beef
250g baking potatoes
2 celery sticks
1 large carrot
250ml beef stock
1 tsp Worcester Sauce
Chop all the vegetables and fry them in a pan for 5 minutes.
Chop the potatoes and corned beef, and add to the pan for another five minutes.
Add Worcester sauce to the beef stock and bring it to the boil in a sauce pan.
Add the filling, leave to simmer for twenty minutes, and allow to cool.
Rub the margarine into the flour for a breadcrumb like consistency.
Add the water to form a dough, then wrap it in cling film and chill in the fridge for ten minutes.
Pre-heat oven to 200 ༠C/ 180 ༠C fan/375 ༠F/5 Gas.
Roll out the pastry and use half to line a pie dish.
Pour the filling into the dish.
Use the rest of the pastry to cover the pie, and slice two openings at the top.
Lightly beat an egg with a fork, and use it to glaze the pie.
Bake in the oven for twenty minutes.
