Chocolate Self Saucing Pudding
Self saucing pudding
Most children like chocolate, and this self saucing pudding was made with the help of my grandchildren.
It is an easy one to make and does not require any electrical instruments, thus making it also ideal for kids to make.

: 8 servings
1½ cups self raising flour
1 tbsp cacao
2/3 cup coconut sugar (or caster sugar)
2 tbsp butter, melted
1 cup skim milk
For the sauce
2 tbsp cacao
½ cup sugar
1¼ cup boiling water
Preheat the oven to 180°/160° fan forced.
Sift the flour and cacao into a large bowl, and stir in the sugar.
Whisk the egg, add the butter and milk.
Add this to the dry ingredients and gently stir until just mixed.
Spread it into a greased (or lined) 2 litre ovenproof dish.
For the sauce
Dissolve the cacao and sugar in the boiling water.
Pour this over the pudding.
Bake for 30 - 35 minutes until just cooked.
Leave for a few minutes to rest, and then slice.
