Chocolate Owl Cupcakes
Cute Chocolate Owl Cupcake recipe, perfect for all fun occasions and birthdays. Get the whole family excited about baking and enjoy them afterwards!

1 cup plain flour
1 tbsp cocoa powder
¾ cup caster sugar
1 ½ tsp baking powder
40g unsalted butter
¼ tsp vanilla essence
Pinch of salt
24 oreo cookies
24 brown m&ms
12 orange m&ms
3 tbsp butter
2 tbsp cocoa powder
3/4 cup icing sugar
3 tsp milk
Preheat oven to 170°C, line a muffin tray with cupcake cases.
Beat together butter and sugar.
Add in the egg and beat well.
Sift in the flour, baking powder, salt and cocoa powder.
Add in the milk and beat well to combine all the ingredients.
Spoon the mixture into the cupcake cases.
Bake for 20 minutes or until a skewer inserted comes out clean.
Remove from the oven and transfer to a wire rack to cool.
Meanwhile for the icing, melt the butter in the microwave and whisk in cocoa powder, icing sugar and milk until the icing comes together. Refrigerate for 10 minutes for it to set.
When the cupcakes are completely cooled, use a knife or spatula to ice the tops of the cupcakes. Make two spikes at the top.
Halve the oreo cookies, keeping the cream inside intact.
Press a brown m&m onto the oreo.
Place the oreo cookie onto the cupcake and press in the orange m&m for the beak.
