Here's the stuff dreams are made of: chocolate almond sugar. Scroll down for the guilt-free good stuff.
Preparation Time: 10 minutes
Cooking Time: 10 minutes
Makes: 230g jar
Ingredients
200g almonds
100g dark chocolate
2 tblsp coconut oil
Method
Place the almonds in a tray with the oil. Place in the oven for 10 minutes.
Add the chocolate to a bowl (or blender) and melt in the microwave for 1 minute.
Remove the nuts from the oven.
Add the roasted nuts to the blending mug / food processor and blitz.
It might take a few goes before you get the smooth, buttery consistency you want. I scraped down the sides after blitzing the mixture twice.
Once blitzed, this yields a smooth, slightly grainy, chocolate sauce or call it chocolate almond butter.
It makes a perfect dip for Apple slices, a protein-packed teaspoon that can be added to smoothies, or a healthier alternative to Nutella.
It keeps well in the fridge as long as it's stored in an airtight jar.
