How do you get your kids to eat their salad? The solution is simple. You make it fun, vibrant and delicious at the same time.
Hard combination? Impress everyone by adding a few of these skewers to the salad mix.
We tend to overeat during the colder season. So tonight I am making a light but tasty salad. This salad is a real treat, combining mini cheesy kransky sausages and grilled haloumi cheese cubes on a bed of fresh garden salad.
A gorgeous salad plate, even the pickiest person would want to give it a go.
Preparation Time: 15 minutes
Cooking Time: 10 minutes
Makes: 4 servings
Ingredients
250g haloumi cheese
200g
mini cheese kransky
300g mixed gourmet salad
3 tablespoon sesame salad dressing
1 small French onion
250 sweet corn kernel
2 truss tomato
1 tablespoon olive oil
Method
Wash the gourmet mixed salad, Drain and allow to dry.
Add 1 tablespoon of oil In a large non-stick frying pan over medium heat.
Fry the mini cheese kransky chorizo on each side. Remove from the heat.
Using the same fry pan, fry the haloumi cheese slices until golden on each side.
Thread kransky sausage, haloumi cubes onto 12 skewers.
Distribute the salad and tomato slices equally between the four plates.
Dress each salad with a small tablespoon of roasted sesame salad dressing.
Top with a handful of sweet corn kernels.
Garnish with French onion slices (optional)
Serve 3 kransky-haloumi skewers on top of each individual salad plate. Lightly drizzle with lemon juice.
This salad is fairly easy to prepare and it is delicious to have at all occasions. Perfect with BBQ. Safety Note - cut off the point end of skewers for the younger eaters.
